01 Acceptance of these terms
By using this site, buying a digital product, or commissioning a piece, you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site or place an order.
02 Who we are
This site is operated by MikeyFilms LLC ("Mikey", "we", "us"), a maker of hardwood furniture and digital products. You can reach us at hello@mikeyfilms.co.
03 What we sell
We offer two kinds of products:
- Digital products — downloadable build plans, source code, audio packs, design assets and similar files, delivered electronically.
- Commissions — made-to-order hardwood furniture and related physical pieces, built to an agreed specification.
04 Digital products
- Digital products are delivered electronically — usually via a download link or license key sent after payment clears. No physical item is shipped.
- You are responsible for downloading your files promptly and keeping a copy; download links may expire.
- You must have a device and software capable of opening the files. Compatibility requirements, where relevant, are noted on the product.
- Because the product is delivered instantly and cannot be returned, your right to cancel may be lost once the download begins — see Refunds & cancellations.
05 Commissions
- Commissions begin with an enquiry and a written quote covering the specification, materials, price and estimated timeline.
- Work starts once you approve the quote and pay a deposit of 50%. The balance is due as agreed, typically before dispatch or collection.
- Each piece is made to order by hand. Natural timber varies in grain, color and figure, and small variations are part of the character of the work, not defects.
- Lead times are estimates given in good faith and may shift with materials, workload or circumstances outside our control.
- Delivery, collection and shipping arrangements are agreed per commission. Risk passes to you on delivery or collection.
06 Pricing & payment
- Prices are shown on the site or in your quote. We may update prices at any time, but changes do not affect orders already confirmed.
- Payments are processed securely by our payment providers, currently Stripe and Lemon Squeezy. By paying, you also agree to the relevant provider's terms.
- You confirm you are authorized to use the payment method you provide.
- Any taxes are applied as required and shown at checkout or in your quote.
07 Refunds & cancellations
Digital products
Because digital products are delivered immediately and cannot be returned, sales are generally final. If a file is faulty, corrupted or not as described, contact us within 14 days of purchase and we will repair, replace or refund it. Nothing here limits any non-waivable rights you have as a consumer under local law.
Commissions
Because commissioned pieces are made to your specification, deposits are non-refundable once work or material purchasing has begun. If you cancel after that point, you remain responsible for work done and materials bought to date. Faulty or misdescribed work will be put right in line with your statutory rights.
08 License & intellectual property
All content on this site, and all digital products, remain our intellectual property (or that of our licensors). When you buy a digital product, you receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use it, subject to any license terms supplied with the product. Unless we state otherwise in writing, you may not:
- resell, redistribute, share or sublicense the files;
- claim them as your own or pass them off as original work;
- upload them to public or shared repositories where others can download them.
Building physical pieces for your own use from a purchased plan is fine. If you need a commercial or extended license, contact us.
09 Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the site — including attempting to gain unauthorized access, disrupting its operation, scraping it at scale, or using it for any unlawful purpose.
10 Affiliate links
Some links on this site are affiliate links, including Amazon links. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. This is at no extra cost to you, and we only link to gear we genuinely use or recommend.
11 Third-party links
The site links to third-party platforms such as YouTube, Twitch and Amazon. We are not responsible for the content, products or practices of those sites, and your use of them is governed by their own terms.
12 Disclaimers
The site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose. Plans, code and assets are provided for your own use, and you are responsible for working safely and following good practice when building from them.
13 Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses arising from your use of the site or products. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the product giving rise to it. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or your non-waivable consumer rights.
14 Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, and any disputes are subject to the courts located in that state, without affecting any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have where you live.
15 Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the current version. The terms in force when you place an order are the ones that apply to that order.
