One door, drawn to spec

There's a single barn-door style here, and it's the one we're confident hanging in your house. The face is laid in a chevron pattern — boards angled to meet down the center — so the grain does the decorating instead of paint or trim. Everything behind it is solid timber, not a veneered hollow core, which is what gives the door its weight and the closing thud people expect from the real thing.

Because it's built to order, the spec is fixed but the dimensions aren't. You pick the wood and finish; we handle the joinery, the panel layout, and the numbers that make it slide true.

Sized to your opening, not a size chart

A barn door isn't installed inside the opening — it hangs over it, so it needs to be wider and taller than the hole it covers. The usual rule is a couple of inches of overlap on each side and along the top, enough to close the gap and keep the sightline clean. Get that wrong and you either see light around the edges or the door fouls the trim.

You don't have to solve that yourself. Measure the finished width and height of the opening, note whether there's baseboard or trim the door has to clear, and we'll work out the door size and the track length from there. If your wall is short on header room for the track, tell us — that's a common thing in Menifee-area homes with lower ceilings, and it's easier to design around than to discover on install day.

Wood and finish

The door is quoted in whatever species suits the room and the budget. Softer, lighter-grained pine or fir keeps the cost down. Oak reads more traditional and takes stain evenly. Walnut is the dark, close-grained option when the door is meant to be the thing you notice walking in. Cedar is on the list too, though it earns its keep more in our planters than on a door.

Finish is a separate choice from wood. Raw ships sanded and bare if you'd rather finish it on site or leave it be. Sealed keeps the natural color while adding protection. Stained shifts the tone. Premium is the multi-step build-up for depth and durability. Each step changes the price, and the estimator shows you the difference rather than making you guess.

Hardware, delivery, and hanging it

The matte-black track hardware is part of the door, not a separate trip to the store — track, hangers, floor guide, and fasteners come with the build in the one style we make. You supply the wall behind it; a barn door pulls its whole weight off the header, so the mounting board or blocking has to be solid, and we'll flag what yours needs.

Local delivery runs around Menifee and the rest of Riverside County. Installation — mounting the track, hanging the slab, setting the guide, and checking the slide — is quoted separately as its own line item, so you can take that part on yourself or leave it to us. Either way it's spelled out on the quote, not buried in a single lump price.
